Mastering the Modern WordPress Engine

THE ARCHITECT

Building from the Bare Metal

My approach to web architecture was shaped long before modern page builders existed, rooted in the discipline of writing Basic, Fortran, and Machine Code on an early Atari 800. That foundational understanding of how systems actually process logic has driven my entire career in code.

When I first started working with WordPress in 2010, the platform was rapidly evolving. By 2012, I had transitioned into a full-time developer role, recogniSing that WordPress wasn't just a blogging tool, it was a highly capable engine that, if coded correctly, could power complex digital ecosystems.

Having spent two decades advising businesses on strategy and growth, I saw a recurring pattern: ambitious founders were constantly being held back by fragile, bloated websites they didn't understand. I created WPScribble to document a better way. This hub is where I share the exact methods I use in Visual Studio every day to build clean, scalable, and ultra-fast WordPress architecture.

The Big Blue Scribble Environment

True performance doesn't stop at the theme; it requires total control of the hosting environment.

At Big Blue Scribble, we don't rely on shared commercial hosting or third-party workarounds. We operate our own dedicated WordPress server platform, engineered specifically for the builds we deploy. Because we manage the architecture from the Linux server level up through the PHP core, we maintain absolute control over security, database caching, and resource allocation.

We don't just build the engine, we own the track it runs on. This infrastructure allows us to enforce strict performance budgets and guarantee the bulletproof stability our clients rely on.
